Given that National Geographic called Corcovado "the most biologically intense place on Earth in terms of biodiversity", guests visiting the compound are encouraged to enter their wildlife encounters in a logbook. Practically every type of wildlife in Costa Rica can be found here, including jaguar, puma, margay, jaguarundi, ocelot, tapir, peccary, otter, deer, sea turtles nesting on the beach and all four species of monkeys.

The images in this listing weren't cherry-picked from photos taken over the years. Other than the aerial shots, every image shown here was taken over the course of a day. During this time, we saw countless Scarlet Macaws, Geoffroy's spider monkeys off the balconies, Coatis (Pizotes) on the beach, flocks of Brown Pelicans flying off the coast, a Barred Hawk, and undoubtedly many more animals that we didn't notice.

Private Oceanfront Property Where The Rainforest Touches The Sea

Considering the amount of acreage and a location bordering highly protected conservation land, this property is the very definition of the word "Private". The primary ocean view building site is set well off of the public access road and the homes are surrounded by towering trees. A private trail leads down from the site to the beachfront land. It is truly paradise on Earth with warm aqua blue water, vibrant green rainforest, colorful Scarlet Macaws flying overhead, and not a single "human" footprint in the soft sand. Other than an occasional fishing boat offshore, you will not see anyone (onshore and offshore fishing here is unbelievable by the way). An old rustic cabin was built by the owners on oceanfront clearing at the bottom of the road. This would be a good shady place to put some hammocks or a palapa for you and your guests to enjoy.
